KJ Apa's Co-Star Eric Dane Reminds Him of His Late 'Riverdale' Dad

Scobell Almost Played Kidpool in 'Deadpool Wolverine'
Riverdale star KJ Apa and Euphoria actor and Greys Anatomy alum Eric Dane explore a fractured father-son relationship through motorcycle racing in One Fast Move. Apa admitted to feeling frustrated while juggling his role on Riverdale and filming One Fast Move with Dane in between seasons 6 and 7 of the CW show. Yet despite the challenges, Apa found a surprising connection with Dane.
"Eric Dane reminded me a lot of Luke Perry," Apa said, referring to his late Riverdale dad. "He had that same kind of energy and charisma that Luke had." Perry played Fred Andrews, Archie's father, on Riverdale until his tragic death in 2019. Dane, who plays Apa's father in One Fast Move, said he was honored to hear the comparison.
"Luke Perry was a great actor and a wonderful person," Dane said. "I'm flattered that KJ sees something of Luke in me." One Fast Move also stars Scobell, who almost played Kidpool in Deadpool Wolverine. The film is expected to be released in 2023.
