The Thrilling Battle Between 305 And 209

Masvidal's TKO Victory Over Diaz Makes Him Inaugural UFC BMF Champion

The Thrilling Battle Between 305 and 209

In a highly anticipated clash of fighting styles, Jorge Masvidal of Miami (35-13 MMA, 12-6 UFC) defeated Nate Diaz of Stockton, California (20-13 MMA, 15-12 UFC) via TKO in the third round to become the first BMF champion in UFC history at UFC 244.

The bout, which took place at Madison Square Garden in New York City on November 2, 2019, lived up to its billing as a clash of two of the most popular fighters in the sport. Masvidal, known for his relentless pressure and devastating striking, proved too much for Diaz, who is renowned for his toughness and cardio. After a competitive first round, Masvidal began to take control in the second, landing several hard shots that visibly rocked Diaz.

In the third round, Masvidal continued to pour on the pressure, and Diaz was unable to keep up. A barrage of punches from Masvidal sent Diaz to the canvas, and the referee stepped in to stop the fight, awarding Masvidal the TKO victory and the BMF championship.
